The University of Wales Trinity Saint David’s (UWTSD) Swansea Waterfront campus has been announced as one of the host venues for the WorldSkills UK National Finals.
WorldSkills UK is a premier competition that brings together the nation’s most talented apprentices and learners, allowing them to showcase their expertise in over 40 skill areas. These range from additive manufacturing, digital construction, accountancy, and cloud computing to electrical installation, health and social care, and renewable energy. The event is designed to highlight the best of UK talent and set industry-leading benchmarks for vocational excellence.
For the first time, WorldSkills UK will live stream a selection of competitions throughout the finals, allowing those unable to attend in person to engage with the event. This initiative will provide apprentices, learners, and educators with a unique opportunity to gain insights into skills excellence, industry expectations, and career development. The live stream will also feature expert discussions on key sectors such as advanced manufacturing, digital, and construction, which are priority areas for economic growth.
Lee Pratt, Advanced Manufacturing Skills Academy Manager at UWTSD, said:
“Being selected as a host for the WorldSkills UK National Finals is a testament to our university’s commitment to excellence in skills development. It not only showcases our state-of-the-art facilities and industry-leading education but also inspires the next generation of talent to achieve their full potential on a national stage.”
WorldSkills UK Chief Executive, Ben Blackledge added:
“Registering apprentices and learners for the WorldSkills UK Competitions is an exciting opportunity to showcase their potential and inspire excellence. Our competitions are based on global standards and play a vital role in developing internationally competitive skills that drive investment, create jobs, and fuel economic growth.”
The national finals will take place in November 2025 across multiple venues in South Wales, including:
- University of Wales Trinity Saint David (Swansea)

Outstanding competitors from this year’s event may be selected to join WorldSkills UK’s training and development programme, with the potential to represent the UK at WorldSkills Aichi 2028 in Japan. This prestigious international stage offers competitors the chance to refine their skills against the best in the world and gain invaluable experience in their respective fields.
