The Welsh Start up Connecting Healthcare and the Community

Signum Health are the Welsh Start up that delivers digital solutions for the healthcare sector.

The road for Signum Health began around 15 years when CEO and Founder Victoria Norman was working as a practitioner within Healthcare. She spotted a big gap between primary care, such as frontline staff and GPs, and community assets that were available.

Recognising digital technology as a way to bridge the gap she would go on to found Signum Health which brings personalised, integrated and scalable digital solutions to healthcare.

Aimed at promoting preventative measures and addressing the holistic needs of people, Signum hopes to ease the workload for the healthcare system.

Originally facing issues surrounding funding, Victoria joined the Welsh Ice 9-5 club and after building up a network, successfully pitched the Development Bank of Wales for investment.

Recently the company was awarded Digital Start up of the Year at the Wales Start up Awards.

Speaking on the win, CEO and founder Victoria Norman said;

“We originally entered the awards in our first year, but we weren’t quite ready just then. So, to win the award in our last year as a start-up is amazing.

Being an entrepreneur and a founder can be a very lonely experience, which can lead to questions over whether or not you are doing the right thing. But when you get an award like this, it is confirmation that you are being recognised for the work you are doing well.”
