Gower College Swansea has announced the launch of its Strategic Plan for 2025-2029, setting an ambitious roadmap that reflects its commitment to excellence in education, skills and training.

Developed through extensive collaboration with staff, learners, employers, and key stakeholders, the plan outlines a bold vision for the College’s future and its pivotal role in transforming lives and driving positive change in the region.

At the heart of the new strategy is the College’s vision statement, “Inspiring Ambitious Futures”, which embodies its dedication to empowering every learner to achieve their full potential. This vision sits hand-in-hand with its mission of “Transforming Lives through Education, Skills, and Training”, reinforcing the College’s focus on education being the most powerful tool for change.

Kelly Fountain, Principal of Gower College Swansea, said:

“This strategic plan represents our collective vision for the future of Gower College Swansea – a future where aspirations are ignited, barriers are removed and success is nurtured. Our unwavering commitment to our learners, our staff and quality is at the heart of this plan, and through high-quality education and training, we aim to create opportunities, foster innovation, and contribute to a more inclusive and sustainable community. • Becoming the highest performing college in Wales.
• Delivering an outstanding learner experience through inclusive, innovative, and high-quality teaching and learning.
• Being recognised as an employer of choice and fostering a culture that promotes wellbeing, diversity, and professional growth.
• Driving economic growth and social cohesion by providing skilled learners who meet the evolving needs of employers.
• Committing to sustainability, reducing the College’s carbon footprint, and embedding sustainable practices in all areas of operation.
• Strengthening partnerships with employers, government, and community organisations to deliver cutting-edge education and training.

The development of the strategic plan involved extensive consultation and feedback from staff, learners, the Corporation Board, as well as external stakeholders and employers. The College has also aligned its strategies with key regional and national initiatives, including Medr’s Strategic Plan and the Well-being of Future Generations Act, Swansea Bay city deal and Welsh Government priorities, ensuring its goals are future-focussed and impactful.

It is rooted in the College’s core values of Resilience, Integrity, Respect, Innovation, and Collaboration. These principles guide every aspect of the College’s operations, shaping a positive and inclusive environment for learners, staff, and partners alike.

Principal, Kelly Fountain, adds:

“As we embark on this exciting journey, we invite the community, employers, and partners to join us in achieving the ambitious goals outlined in our Strategic Plan. Together, we will continue to make a positive impact on learners, the economy, and the wider community, living up to our vision of Inspiring Ambitious Futures.”
