Penarth-based B2B marketing and PR agency, TMPR, has partnered with Cardiff University to host an integrated work placement for second-year business students, with Toma Seronaite joining the team as Business Intern earlier this month.
During the five-month paid programme, Toma will be focusing on operational improvement and business performance, giving her invaluable industry experience and TMPR access to top university talent.
TMPR has worked with Cardiff University to offer work placements since 2018, successfully supporting a number of students to develop the skills and knowledge that only the workplace can teach. Extending the placement opportunities it provides, this is the first time TMPR has partnered with Cardiff Business School to welcome a Business Intern.
Louise Morgan, TMPR Director commented:
“As an agency we believe in providing workplace opportunities for students to experience life in industry alongside their academic studies. During Toma’s placement, we’ll support her to explore ways to improve business performance and prepare for the next stages of our growth. The business is at an exciting stage and Toma joining is a great opportunity to help us take the next step.”
In collaboration with Louise, Toma will undertake a five-month project to review operational processes and identify ways to enhance business performance. With a keen interest in improving efficiency and researching new initiatives, Toma will share her insights and ideas on how the business can develop over the coming months.
Discussing her appointment, Toma said:
“My first few weeks at TMPR have exceeded all expectations, and I’m truly excited for what’s to come. I’ve already made a start by looking into the fundamental way TMPR operates. The team has been extremely welcoming and very helpful. This is my first full time role, and I couldn’t be happier to have such a supportive group around me.”
Alex Hicks, Placement Manager at Cardiff Business School, commented:
“Here at Cardiff Business School, we place a huge emphasis on work placements. Not only does it help students put the theory they are learning at university into practice, but it also allows them to develop those all-important employability skills. The impact our students are making in placements every day never ceases to amaze me; shining a light on the work we do within the school and the positive relationships we have with organisations across Wales, the UK, and globally. TMPR has been excellent in creating an environment for our students to strive in and it doesn’t go unnoticed by the placement student and the university.”
