Cardiff and Vale College are working hand-in-hand with leading professional services firm Deloitte to create an exciting, unique and fully funded opportunity to boost the career prospects of people in the Cardiff and Vale region.
The New Beginnings programme will provide successful applicants with a wide range of training and workshops that are designed to build the knowledge, confidence and skills that employers look for as well as access to job opportunities at Deloitte’s delivery centre in Cardiff.
“At Deloitte we believe there is an opportunity to unleash greater potential in people and have been pioneering development programmes for our own people as well as clients. We also aim to raise aspirations and help other people overcome barriers to employment.
“This new open-access adult education programme will make a substantial difference to the employability and career prospects of many people in the region. By focusing on technical and soft skills, we’ll be able to equip people with knowledge, confidence and qualifications that are desirable to employers like Deloitte,” said Ross Flanigan, managing director at Deloitte’s Cardiff delivery centre.
“I am delighted that we have been able to collaborate once again with Cardiff and Vale College to create the New Beginnings programme.”
Consisting of workshops and training days with course content being delivered by CAVC’s in-house training delivery team, successful applicants will take part in these to improve their skills whilst also gaining industry recognised qualifications such as Microsoft Office Specialist and City and Guilds Awards.
“We’re delighted to be working with such a prestigious and trusted firm” said Martin Condy, senior manager for employer partnerships at Cardiff and Vale College. “This programme will make a real-world difference to the employability of anyone who takes part. It’s an opportunity to gain experience and qualifications that will increase career pathways and options for the future”
