Executive Search Firm Launches Welsh Language Recruitment Service

A bilingual executive search firm is marking its 10th anniversary with the launch of a new arm of the business dedicated to Welsh language recruitment.

Goodson Thomas is now expanding its services by offering a tailored recruitment solution for critical roles where Welsh language skills are a strategic priority.

Penodi – which means ‘Appoint’ in Welsh – aims to help organisations appoint high-quality Welsh-speaking candidates. The new division will support organisations across all sectors in Wales who are committed to building a bilingual workforce, focusing on roles up to mid-management level.

To achieve this, the Penodi team will run recruitment campaigns that make the most of the company’s broad reach and expertise in finding top talent.

Ross O’Keefe, Director of Goodson Thomas and Penodi said:

“We’ve seen a considerable increase in demand for this service from both existing clients and new organisations whose ambitions are to foster a Welsh-speaking workforce. Many are committed to fulfilling their duties under the Welsh Language Standards and prioritising the filling of roles that require Welsh speakers.

“Our service will help these organisations accurately assess candidates’ Welsh language abilities and encourage those who lack confidence to apply for positions where they can receive support to further develop their skills.”

As well as partnering with organisations, Penodi will also help candidates boost their careers by helping them present themselves well for jobs that need Welsh language skills.

Catrin Taylor, also a Director at the company, shared the broader plans to celebrate 10 years in business:

“The launch of Penodi is part of a series of activities this year to mark Goodson Thomas’ 10th anniversary. Last week, we announced a new partnership, becoming a Business Champion for the National Dance Company Wales’s longstanding Young Associates programme, which will feature a brand new commission called Hylas. NDCWales shares our vision for a modern Wales focused on strong leadership, developing talent, creativity, and excellence.

“This year is a great opportunity for us to thank those who have supported us over the years, open doors to new partnerships, and solidify our place in the business community in Wales.”
